Algeria requires that potential adoptive fathers cannot be over the age of 60, and potential adoptive mothers can't be over the age of 55. Eligible adoptive parents must make at least the equivalent per month of 15,000 Algerian dinar. However, if the potential adoptive parents live overseas, an additional amount may be required, based on the living expenses of the area. Also, all potential adoptive parents must be Muslim. In 2011, two Algerian children were adopted to the United States.
